The Zoom MS-60B has either more DSP power or better algorithms as far as I can tell. Otherwise I managed to dial in most of my tones. The foot switch makes it super practical, especially for looping. Let me know if you have any questions about the Prime P1 and the foot switch. Aug 17, 2022 #6.

The P-Bass has a wider neck and a smaller body than the 32" Jazz. There is a 32" Fender Aerodyne P/J on eBay as I write this. The guy is asking $798 plus $120 shipping from Japan!! So I would guess the “east coast” sound is the NYC sound, an Ampeg B15.

He mainly used Mesa, but some times used Ampeg. In the early tears (Spastik Children I guess) he used a Randall amp. The only Ampeg thing that I could find that he used was a cabinet. 1) Use a flatheaded screw driver and pull out all the frets. 2) Use 220 grit sandpaper (pretty fine grit) and sand it down till smooth (its rough after you take the frets out). 3) Take wood filler and fill each slot with it and let dry for a couple hours.
The original, pre-upgrade Highway One Model had an acrylic lacquer finish. When Fender introduced the upgrade model in 2005, they changed to nitrocellulose lacquer. As a side note, I owned both a 2005 pre-upgrade bass (sold for financial reasons) and currently own a 2006 post-upgrade bass.
The pickups/bass overall sounds awesome. Apparently they are custom spec'd Seymour Duncans. Sounds like a P bass but bit more focused (exactly like how JMJ described it). The bass came with a good quality padded Fender gig bag and not some cheap thin garbage lol. Totally usable for pro gigging.Aug 15, 2007 · The only real difference is the preamp. I played the one I bought at GC and swapped back and forth with the U.S. Stingray 5 for about 45 minutes. The only difference I could tell was maybe the age of the neck wood.
